PineCrest Village is Lumberton, North Carolina's only private golf community. We are comprised of 49 lots, ranging from .3 to .7 of an acre, which are adjacent to PineCrest Golf course. Pine Crest Village lots have excellent views across the golf course. The lots are of moderate size and are designed to appeal to the retiree or small family looking for a relaxed community that is convenient to numerous amenities. All lots are within a short golf cart drive to the Pro-shop and dining facilities at the clubhouse.
Pinecrest Golf Course is an 18 hole course that boasts a style made popular by Donald Ross, famed architect of Pinehurst no. 2 whose layout features small, undulating greens and few water hazards. The original nine holes were designed by Lumberton resident Henry Lee and opened in 1930. The remaining nine were designed by Cy Williams, the head PGA professional and superintendent at Pinecrest for 43 years, in consultation with Donald Ross. With the completion of the final nine holes, Pinecrest Golf Course opened as an 18-hole course in 1951.
Located on the outskirts of Lumberton, a diverse community of approximately 25,000 and the county seat of Robeson County, PineCrest Village is close to major interstate highways and a short drive to the North Carolina and South Carolina beaches and the mountains of North Carolina.
Lumberton is blessed with a major hospital in Southestern Regional Medical Center, whose partnership with Duke Medicine has produced state of the art heart & cancer centers. For retired military needs, a Veterans Affairs Center is located in Pembroke (approximately 10 miles west of Lumberton) and at the VA hospital in Fayetteville (approximately 35 miles north). Robeson County and Lumberton are also home to two institutions of higher education - The University of North Carolina at Pembroke www.uncp.edu and Robeson Community College www.robeson.edu .
